Lanny Maddox, Ph.D. joined Safer after a thirty-three year career in local and federal law enforcement. Lanny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Administration. His education also includes graduating from the 176th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Southwest Command College. He has been a certified instructor with the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy since 1986 and belongs to the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers. Lanny holds a New Mexico Executive Level Law Enforcement Certification. He serves as the current President and an Executive Board Member of the New Mexico Association of Chiefs of Police, and has also been a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police since 1994. Through his numerous associations, Lanny enjoys the opportunities to travel and stay involved in significant law enforcement issues throughout the United States. Lanny is also a certified CPS technician.
